New DoD Initiative Bridges Gap to Silicon Valley

The DoD established a new center in Silicon Valley to help bridge the gap between the Pentagon and the tech world of Silicon Valley.  Defense Innovation Unit–Experimental (DIU-x) was annouced in April, and in August its first leaders were annouced.  George Duchak, a former director at the Air Force Research Laboratory, will serve as director of DIU-x, and Rear Adm. Daniel “Brian” Hendrickson, a former Navy SEAL and Reserve officer, will serve as the unit’s military deputy.
