Growing Importance of IoT

The Importance of defending IoT and the impact on the rest of cyberworld is becoming even more plenty obvious. This week, OVH.com reported that they were victims of a new recorded breaking monster cyber attack of over 1tbs of data. The data was from a botnet of some 150,000+ compromised Internet of Things devices, routers, DVRs and security cameras. These "little" devices are adding up to some huge impacts.

Also reinforcing the importance of IoT, NSA Deputy Director Rick Ledgett warned business leaders. He talked about the near vertical line of connected devices. He said that, ""It is a fundamental truth of cybersecurity that your network is only as secure as the weakest piece of hardware or software on [it]" and that these poorly and unpatched devices are giving opportunities for attackers.
