"Researchers Successfully Perform First 4D Quantum Encryption"
Researchers from the University of Ottawa in Canada have successfully demonstrated 4D quantum encryption by sending a high-dimensional quantum-encrypted message, using a free-space optical communication method to transmit the data between two buildings. This method of high-dimensional quantum encryption has been specified to be 4D as each photon used to encode information, encrypts two bits instead of one. This demonstration indicates the possible use of free-space quantum-encryption to create a link between ground-based networks and satellites for efficient and highly secure communication in the future. This article further discusses this demonstration performed by researchers, possibilities and capabilities of 4D quantum encryption, as well as other plans for the implementation of this method.
