"Team Finds Many of Mobile Applications Are Open to Web API Hijacking"

An analysis conducted by a team of researchers at Texas A&M University revealed that a significant number of mobile apps are vulnerable to web API hijacking, which poses a threat to the privacy and security of users. Therefore, a system called WARDroid has been created to identify inconsistencies between mobile app and server logic in web APIs that could lead to web API hijacking attacks.
