"Feds Expand Security Researchers' Ability to Hack Without Going to Jail"

Exemptions have been extended and added to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act by the Librarian of Congress and U.S. Copyright Office. These exemptions are in support of protecting computer security researchers from being criminalized for their efforts to uncover and discuss security vulnerabilities in copyrighted products. This article continues to discuss critiques surrounding the DMCA, the renewal and addition of exemptions to the DMCA, and how such exemptions protect security researchers.
