"Dozens of Companies Leaked Sensitive Data Thanks to Misconfigured Box Accounts"

Security researchers from Adversis have discovered the leaking of sensitive corporate and customer data by more than 90 tech companies and corporate giants due to the sharing of public links by employees to files stored in their Box enterprise accounts. The data stored in these accounts is private by default. However, employees can make this data accessible to the anyone through the sharing of links. This article continues to discuss discoveries surrounding the inadvertent leaking of sensitive data by companies in relation to how secret links to files in Box enterprise storage accounts can be found, the type of data that has been leaked, affected companies, along with the responses to these findings.
