"Antivirus Used by Millions Blocked All Google Sites by Mistake, Sowing Chaos"

Due to an error, a popular antivirus used by millions of people worldwide recently blocked all Google sites and services. For about an hour, some people who had Malwarebytes antivirus installed on their computers were unable to visit any Google site or use services such as Gmail or the Google Play Store. Naomi Clark, a game designer and teacher at New York University's Game Center, tweeted about the problem, claiming that websites would not load as if they were blocked by a firewall. Previously, her Malwarebytes installation began notifying her that a malware site had been blocked, with dozens of notifications per minute, all of which were for Google domains. Marcin Kleczynski, CEO and co-founder of Malwarebytes, revealed that it was an accidental false positive that was quickly corrected and only affected Windows users. This article continues to discuss the Malwarebytes antivirus incident in which all Google sites and services were blocked.
