"Purdue University Researchers Win ASEE Best Paper Award for Research Integrating Systems Thinking in Threat Modeling"

Researchers from Purdue University won the American Society for Engineering Education's (ASEE) Best Paper award for their work titled "Introducing Systems Thinking as a Framework for Teaching and Assessing Threat Modeling Competency." To help counter cybersecurity threats faced by computing systems, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recommends training software engineers in threat modeling. Through such training, software engineers will better understand their systems and the external threats they face. The research team have described their new approach to teaching threat modeling. This article continues to discuss the team's work to improve the teaching of threat modeling.
