Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as an ongoing international priority for the U.S. and its allies in the fight for democracy and economic freedom. AI-enabled systems in public and government sectors can boost decision-making, ensure mission success, uphold democratic values, and improve citizens’ daily lives. Assuring and securing AI use in such high-stakes, complex environments in defense and security, as well as Earth sciences, health, and medicine, is a top priority for the U.S. to incorporate solutions both within the national borders and across the global landscape.

This conference will broadly focus on AI assurance and security and associated risks stemming from a variety of factors depending on use context, including AI system safety, equity, reliability, interpretability, robustness, privacy, and governability. The conference will take a holistic approach to addressing national and international AI challenges with contribution from government, industry and academic participants.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • AI assurance (safety, security, equity, reliability, interpretability, robustness, privacy)
  • AI security (AI for cybersecurity and securing AI systems)
  • AI red teaming
  • AI system risk and controls/safeguards
  • AI tools and metrics
  • AI data assurance
  • AI governance
  • Responsible and ethical use of AI
  • Test and evaluation, validation and verification (TEVV) of AI
