Saturday Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop
Saturday Workshop Grades 6-8

The Saturday Cybersecurity Awareness Workshop for Grades 6-8 provides an interactive learning and mentoring experience for girls in grades 6-8 who are interested in technology, computers, and cybersecurity! Undergraduate students will lead activities in various computer and technology related topics. This event will provide girls the opportunity to learn everything they need to know to safely use the internet and technology with confidence! We will accept up to 70 girls for this event.

Program

In the Cybersecurity and Cybersafety program, undergraduate students will lead you through interactive presentations and exciting workshops. You will engage in fun, hands-on activities that will allow you to become a smarter computer user!

  • Welcome and Icebreaker Activities
  • Groups rotate through hands-on activities in various topics
  • Lunch
  • Closing Ceremony - Includes an interactive review of the day's activities and recognition for participation (Parents are strongly urged to attend this session).

Registration for the Cybersecurity and Cybersafety Workshop for Grades 6-8 is on a first come, first serve basis. Please submit the Online Registration form as soon as possible to secure your space in the program. Applicants will be notified via email of each child’s admission to the program. You will first need to reply to that email confirming that your child will attend. This email will have an attached Permission Slip that then must be completed and returned (via mail or email) prior to the event. There will also be information about mailing in your payment (checks only). Payment must be received prior to the event.

Program Cost

Program cost is $30, which includes lunch and a t-shirt. Payment will be required once the applicant is accepted to the program.
