"New Data Structure Allows Rapid Tracking and Policing of Network Data"
A team of A*STAR researchers have developed a new data structure by the name of REX, which stands for Resilient and Efficient Data Structure. This new data structure improves upon the commonly-used data structure, hash table, to defend networks from malicious threats and reduce processing time. As the internet continues to grow, so does the flow of data, resulting in the decrease in productivity of the traditional hash table. This article further discusses why traditional hash tables are becoming ineffective, the development of REX, as well as how REX addresses problems faced by traditional hash tables.
