"Majority of Health Apps Plagued with Security Risks, Say Researchers"
A study conducted by researchers at the University of Pireus in Greece and Rovia I Virgili University in Spain, indicates that the majority of health apps contain security flaws. The inadequate security of such apps pose a threat to the privacy of users as most of these apps were discovered to be storing personal information over insecure connections. The majority of the apps examined were also found to be sharing users' personal information with third-party organizations. This article further discusses the findings of this study and how app developers have responded to these security risks.
