Researchers from Princeton University have presented a way in which hacked consumer IoT devices being used to conduct DDoS attacks could be detected in real-time. A system designed by researchers to operate on network middleboxes, executes tasks such as data collection, feature extraction, and more, in order to perform real-time detection of IoT DDoS attacks. This article continues to discuss the functions and testing of the system created by researchers to perform real-time IoT DDoS detection.
