NSA NCTOC TD - Talks at RSA

The National Security Agency's Dave Hogue, Technical Director in the NCTOC (NSA's Cyber Threat Operations Center ) talked at RSA about NSA's NCTOC.

• Highlights include that Phishing is a major attack vector. NSA receives 36 million emails per day, 85% are rejected.
• The NSA hasn't responded to a 0-day attack in over 2 years on DoD Networks.
• Hackers weaponize announced vulnerabilities within 24hrs.
• Most attacks actually exploit human error and a basic failure to comply with the best security practices.
