"Accidental Data Breaches Are Often Compounded by a Failure to Encrypt"
Findings of a national survey commissioned by Egress to which security professionals responded, show that accidental data breaches are often the result of a lack of encryption by organizations as well as the exposure of data by employees through the use of email and file sharing. Respondents have also expressed that ransomware remains one of the biggest risks to the security of their organizations. This article continues to discuss key findings of the survey in relation to the encryption of data by organizations prior to sharing, the exposure of sensitive data by employees, and the biggest security risks to organizations' IT in 2019.
