Data breaches have become a common occurrence. In Australia, the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) found that a data breach affected more than 10 million Australians. This data breach is just one of many that have recently been experienced by organizations across the world. According to Verizon's 2019 Data Breach Investigation Report (DBIR), web application attacks remain the most common attack vector for data breaches, which calls for all organizations to examine their application security practices. Organizations are encouraged to adopt new approaches to application security in which automation, artificial intelligence, and human intelligence is used.
