"CISA and MS-ISAC Release Joint Ransomware Guide"

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Multi-State Information and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) released a joint ransomware guide. The purpose of this guide is to help stakeholders understand how to proactively prevent ransomware attacks. The guide also provides a detailed approach that organizations can take to respond to and resolve such cyber incidents. Part one of the guide focuses on ransomware prevention, discussing the different ways in which organizations can reduce the risk posed by ransomware. In part two of the guide, best practices regarding detection and analysis, containment and eradication, and recovery and post-incident activities are outlined. This article continues to discuss the joint ransomware guide's development and areas of focus, and changes in ransomware tactics that call for all organizations to take steps to protect their data from such attacks.
