"More Than Half of Medical Devices Found To Have Critical Vulnerabilities"

Cynerio's 2022 State of Healthcare IoT Device Security Report highlights the results from the analysis of 10 million medical devices at over 300 global hospitals and medical facilities, revealing that over 50 percent of the examined Internet-connected devices contain a known vulnerability. Infusion pumps were found to be the most common healthcare IoT device, with 73 percent of them containing a vulnerability that poses a threat to patient safety, data confidentiality, or service availability if exploited by a malicious actor. Some of these vulnerabilities stem from outdated programs and weak default credentials.
