"RuTube Hack: Russian Video Platform Denies Losing Source Code After Cyberattack"

A Russian video streaming service called RuTube denies losing all of its source code after a recent cyberattack that coincided with Russia's Victory Day. The platform, owned by Gazprom-Media and considered the Russian equivalent to YouTube, has nearly 25 million monthly active users but has become inaccessible. The video platform claims it has been trying to restore access with help from the security firm Positive Technologies. RuTube believes someone tried to prevent the platform from showing the victory parade and fireworks. Members of Anonymous say the attack was severe, stating that almost 75 percent of RuTube's databases and infrastructure and nearly 90 percent of the backup to restore databases have been impacted significantly. However, RuTube denies the loss of any source code and data. This article continues to discuss the cyberattack against the Russian video platform.
