"A Third of Mid-Sized Organizations Don't Have a Cyber-Incident Response Plan"

The increase in ransomware and other attacks has made organizations prioritize cybersecurity more. However, a new study found that 36 percent of mid-sized organizations lack a formal incident response plan. According to Egnyte's report, which is based on a survey of 400 US executives conducted by Wakefield Research, the rise in cyberattacks has prompted organizations to focus more on user access to critical data repositories. To detect unusual access to their data repositories, most businesses track geographical access and flag suspicious user folder access. Backups continue to be critical for recovering from attacks, but only 58 percent of respondents' organizations test critical data backup and recovery processes on a daily basis. Yet, cybersecurity awareness training is becoming more common, with 63 percent of respondents' organizations providing cybersecurity awareness training at least once a quarter. This article continues to discuss key findings from Egnyte's report on cybersecurity trends for mid-sized organizations.
