"Security and Automation Are Top Priorities for IT Pros"

According to a new report from Kaseya, the top three priorities for IT professionals are improving overall IT security (52 percent), increasing IT productivity through automation (33 percent), and migrating to the cloud (32 percent). Kaseya's survey of nearly 2,000 IT professionals revealed that the top three challenges are cybersecurity and data protection (49 percent), a lack of IT resources to meet demand (29 percent), and legacy systems that stifle growth and innovation (21 percent). Furthermore, 54 percent of respondents strongly support integration, up from 48 percent last year, believing that integrating all of their solutions is the best approach. The top three areas that would benefit from integration are access to IT documentation, the ability to run automation scripts, and ticket management. IT security budgets, among other findings, are expected to rise. In addition to anticipated increases in security staffing, approximately 86 percent of respondents expect their IT security budget to increase or remain unchanged this year. A third list security incidents and concerns as one of their top three budget drivers. This article continues to discuss key findings from Kaseya's survey of IT professionals regarding security.
