"3 Research Universities to Collaborate With Industry, Government to Develop Quantum Technologies"

Quantum science and engineering have the potential to save energy, accelerate computation, bolster national security and defense, and enhance health care. Quantum science will revolutionize technologies ranging from drug design, materials, and energy harvesting systems to computing, data security, and supply chain logistics in the coming decades. As part of the Center for Quantum Technologies, researchers from Indiana University, Purdue University, and the University of Notre Dame will develop industry- and government-relevant quantum technologies with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF). The Center for Quantum Technologies will convert fundamental knowledge into industry-friendly quantum devices, systems, and algorithms, as well as train future quantum scientists and engineers to meet the demand for a skilled quantum workforce. This article continues to discuss the newly formed Center for Quantum Technologies.
