Researchers have identified five different malicious Chrome extensions masquerading as Netflix viewers and more. These extensions have been found to monitor user activity and insert code into any e-commerce sites they visit, allowing cybercriminals to steal money through retailer affiliate programs. Analysts at McAfee Labs discovered Chrome extensions marketed to allow users to watch Netflix in groups, automatically clip coupons, and take screenshots. They found that the apps had been downloaded 1.4 million times in total.
