"Cryptocurrency Company BIT Mining Out $3 Million in Cyberattack"

BIT Mining, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency mining companies, has disclosed that a cyberattack resulted in the theft of nearly $3 million. According to BIT Mining, the incident on December 3 targeted one of the company's subsidiaries. Certain digital assets were stolen in the cyberattack, including roughly $700,000 in asset value owned by the subsidiary's clients and about $2.3 million in asset value owned by BIT Mining. The event was reported to police in Shenzhen, China, and an investigation was launched on December 23. BIT Mining stated that some of the stolen funds have been recovered due to local and business coordination. The company went on to say that it has introduced new technology to enable its Information Technology (IT) personnel to better block and intercept potential hackers.
