"ESXiArgs Ransomware Has Infected Hundreds of New Targets in Europe, Researchers Say"

According to data collected by the security research firm Censys, the ESXiArgs ransomware has recently targeted over 500 European organizations. Researchers at Censys have been updating a dashboard that monitors the ransomware campaign's spread daily. In the past few days, researchers have seen slightly more than 500 hosts that have been recently infected with ESXiArgs. France experienced 217 new incidents, compared to 137 in Germany, 28 in the Netherlands, 23 in the UK, and 19 in Ukraine. The analysis also reveals that the initial infections date back to October 12, 2022, before European cybersecurity officials began issuing warnings about the ransomware on February 2, 2023.
