The cybercrime economy centered on access to compromised systems, services, and networks has developed significantly over the past year, with a six-fold increase in the number of credentials stolen by cybercriminals via malware and made available for sale. Access-as-a-Service (AaaS) services have flourished in the criminal underground, with thousands of advertisements offering hackers access to compromised systems, according to the newly released annual report from Recorded Future. In addition, data collection, the use of stolen accounts, and phishing are among the top 10 most-discussed tactics in cybercriminal forums.
