"DISA Announces Successful Completion of Thunderdome Zero-Trust Prototype"

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has announced that its Thunderdome prototype has been successfully completed. DISA has been developing and implementing a zero-trust network access architecture. This architecture will strengthen the networks of the US Department of Defense (DIB) and deter the growing threats posed by adversaries seeking to undermine US national security interests and international order. The DISA Thunderdome prototype successfully demonstrated that commercial technologies, such as Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Software Defined-Wide Area Networks/Customer Edge Security Stack (CESS), and Application Security Stacks, can improve network performance and security in an existing enterprise environment. Thunderdome is a collection of technologies that are integrated but independent of one another. In addition to the security benefits of a zero-trust architecture and the additional data offered by Thunderdome, the DISA prototype demonstrated enhanced network performance metrics for remote access. This article continues to discuss DISA's successful completion of its Thunderdome zero-trust prototype.
