Faculty Positions in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering seeks to fill three tenure-track assistant professor positions. The department is looking for candidates in the broad areas of Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Computer Systems, though outstanding candidates in other related areas will also be considered. The position will begin on August 15, 2025. Candidates must show exceptional promise in both research and teaching. Candidates should have an appreciation of and commitment to the value of diversity and work with a diverse faculty and student body.

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science, or a closely related field by the appointment date.

The department offers B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence; M.S. degrees in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering and Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence; and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Informatics. The University is located on 1,443 acres of scenic land in the cities of Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills in Oakland County, Michigan. The review of applications will begin on December 9, 2024, and will continue until the positions are filled. Applicants should submit a letter of intent, a CV, unofficial transcripts, and separate statements on diversity, research, and teaching.  The diversity statement should describe their interest or efforts in furthering diversity and inclusion e.g., through mentoring, pedagogy, activism, faculty recruitment/retention, or research on issues related to diversity and social equality.  The teaching statement should include a list of undergraduate and graduate courses that the applicant will be willing to teach as well as outlines of two courses that the applicant would like to introduce.
