The security weaknesses in the Domain Name System (DNS) call for the increased implementation of DNSSEC by state governments. DNSSEC is a technical standard that enhances the security of the DNS by adding cryptographic signatures to DNS records. This article continues to discuss the insecurity of the DNS, added layer of security provided by DNSSEC, implementation of DNSSEC by the federal government, and this standard’s lack of adoption by state governments.
