"Budget Request Emphasizes Cyber, Network Security Effort"

According to the Trump administration's proposed budget for the fiscal year 2021, $18.8 billion will be spent on cybersecurity programs across the federal government. $9 billion is set aside for civilian agencies in support of improving network security, critical infrastructure protection, filling the cybersecurity workforce gap, and more. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) will receive $1.1 billion to protect against cyber threats targeted at government networks and critical infrastructure, as well as to maintain tools, including EINSTEIN and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation. DHS' Cyber Talent Management System aimed at placing new cybersecurity professionals in the federal workforce under special hiring rules will also receive funding.
