"Check Point Reveals Cyber Security Impact of COVID-19"

Dimensional Research conducted a survey for Check Point to which 411 IT and security professionals from companies with more than 500 employees responded. The purpose of this study was to explore how the coronavirus outbreak has impacted enterprise security. Most of the security professionals who responded to the survey reported an increase in security threats or attacks since the outbreak began. Phishing attempts and malicious coronavirus-themed websites were cited by most of the respondents as the top threats to their organizations. Other findings shared in the report highlight malicious actors' exploitation of changes to enterprise working practices and fears ignited by the pandemic, which has created new security issues. This article continues to discuss how the pandemic has affected enterprise security in relation to increases in certain threats, challenges in managing remote work, and suspicious domains, as well as the approach that should be taken by organizations to ensure security and business continuity.
