"Engineers Use Game Theory to Quantify Threats of Cyberattacks on Power Grid"

Threats of cyberattacks on the power grid are commonly labeled as low, medium, or high in terms of severity. However, such labeling has been deemed insufficient by a team of engineers at Iowa State University as the judgements made in this type of classification are too qualitative and subjective. The engineers are working on a project aimed at improving the way which threats of cyberattacks on the power grid are assessed. This article continues to discuss the inadequacy of current assessments as well as the project that is in the works to develop a tool to better assess and mitigate threats of cyberattacks on the power grid with the use of game theory.
