"Facebook Takes Down Inauthentic Accounts From India, Egypt"

Facebook has recently removed hundreds of accounts, pages, groups, and Instagram accounts that were originally from India and Egypt for violating Facebook’s policy against foreign or government interference. The Facebook accounts from India focused on spreading fake news in the U.S., U.K., and Canada. The Egyptian account activity was aimed at countries in the Middle East and North Africa. aRep Global was responsible for the spread of fake news from India, and the companies Waves and Flexwell were responsible for spreading fake news from Egypt.  The Indian based accounts spent only 450 dollars on advertising to promote their posts, which were fake news, and this resulted in the fake accounts receiving over 30,000 followers.
