"How DHS hopes to harden tech against GPS spoofing"
The Department of Homeland Security is conducting tests to improve the security of GPS signals as devices and government operations such as smartphones and the military rely on the critical services provided by these signals. DHS Science and Technology Directorate is providing a spoofing environment for GPS receiver manufacturers to test their equipment. Data collected from these tests are expected to help manufacturers improve the security of their equipment as well as adopt new counteracting strategies. This article discusses the impacts of spoofing GPS signals and how DHS hopes to further protect critical infrastructure.
