"Majority of Java Apps Are Susceptible to Hack Attacks"

Findings of the 2017 State of Software Security Report released by Veracode, emphasizes the importance of patching open source components used within applications to prevent security breaches. An overwhelming majority of Java applications consist of at least one vulnerable component as most organizations neglect to conduct composition analysis on the components used within such applications. This article further discusses the key findings of this survey in relation to the percentage of Java applications that contain at least one flaw in a component, reliance on vulnerable components by Java applications, analysis conducted by organizations to check their application’s components, and more.
