"Securing the 'Internet of Things' in the Quantum Age"

Despite the major advancements that quantum computing will bring to the realms of medical research, drug discovery, and more, this technology is also expected to render currently used encryption algorithms obsolete due to the quantum-mechanical properties contained by quantum computers to perform calculations at a much faster rate than classic computers. MIT researchers have developed a novel circuit architecture that can protect low-power IoT devices from quantum computer attacks. This article continues to discuss the threat posed by quantum computing, lattice-based cryptography, and the novel cryptography circuit developed by MIT researchers to secure low-power IoT devices in the quantum age.
