"Bolstering Government Vehicle Telematics Cybersecurity"

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) and the Department of Transportation’s Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) worked together to strengthen the cybersecurity of government vehicle telematics. Through this collaboration, a telematics cybersecurity primer was created for managers of federal vehicle fleets. Vehicle telematics are identified as systems embedded on vehicles that can send, receive, and store vehicle information, as well as perform vehicle tracking. This article continues to discuss vehicle telematics technology, along with the development, purpose, and topics of the “Telematics Cybersecurity Primer for Agencies”.
