"Cisco Confirms Yanluowang Ransomware Leaked Stolen Company Data"

Cisco has confirmed that the data leaked by the Yanluowang ransomware gang was stolen from the company network through a cyberattack in May. However, according to an update from Cisco, the leak does not change the company's initial assessment that the incident has no impact on the business. Cisco announced in August that the Yanluowang ransomware had breached its network after hackers gained access to an employee's Virtual Private Network (VPN) account. The stolen data included non-sensitive files from the employee's Box folder, according to the company, and the attack was stopped before the Yanluowang ransomware could begin encrypting systems. However, the threat actor claimed otherwise, with the Yanluowang's leader saying that they stole thousands of files totaling 55 GB, including classified documents, technical schematics, and source code. This article continues to discuss the Yanluowang ransomware gang claiming to have stolen thousands of files from Cisco.
