"Cloud-Enabled Threats are on the Rise, Sensitive Data is Moving Between Cloud Apps"

In a new study, researchers found that 89 percent of enterprise users are in the cloud, actively using at least one cloud app every day. Overall, the average enterprise uses over 2,400 distinct cloud services and apps. The top 5 cloud app categories used by businesses are cloud storage, collaboration, webmail, consumer, and social media. 44 percent of threats to businesses are cloud-based.  More attackers are attacking organizations through cloud services using techniques including scams, phishing, malware delivery, command and control, formjacking, chatbots, and data exfiltration. The most popular cloud threat techniques are phishing and malware delivery.  Researchers also found that 50 percent of data policy violations come from cloud storage, collaboration, and webmail apps.
