"Credential Theft Via Spoofed Login Pages Increase, Healthcare Top Target"

According to a new report from IRONSACLES, there has been a significant increase in successful credential theft attempts via spoofed login pages and social engineering attacks in the first half of the year, most of which targeted those working in the healthcare sector. The researchers identified over 50,000 fake login pages that appeared to be from more than 200 well-known global brands. Other leading targets in social engineering attacks and credential theft attempts include those in financial services, government agencies, and technology industries. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security recently warned of the use of vishing (voice phishing) campaigns to trick victims into logging into malicious websites designed to look like their employer's webpages. The top five brands with the highest number of fake login pages are PayPal, Microsoft, Facebook, eBay, and Amazon. This article continues to discuss recent findings regarding the increased success of phishing attacks.
