"DHS S&T Seeks Solutions to Software Vulnerabilities"

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) has announced a new solicitation in collaboration with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) that addresses vulnerabilities in software, which is an essential component of critical infrastructure systems. Cyberattacks can result in outages or damage to safety and life-critical systems. S&T's Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP) is looking for technical capabilities that will help CISA secure the digital frameworks that individuals and organizations rely on for critical services such as communications, finance, transportation, and energy. The "Software Supply Chain Visibility Tools" topic call highlights key capabilities that will help organizations bring transparency to the digital building blocks they use in their business operations and cyber defenses. The topic call seeks technology to improve the assurance of the software supply chain, which is critical to the protection of software and software-controlled systems. This can be accomplished, in part, by developing tools that provide stakeholder visibility into software supply chains and new risk assessment capabilities. This article continues to discuss the new solicitation issued by CISA and DHS S&T encouraging the development of technologies capable of addressing software vulnerabilities.
