"FTC Urged to Investigate ‘Easy’ to Hack Smartwatches for Kids"

Tests conducted by security firm, Mnemonic, and the Norwegian Consumer Council (NCC), reveals major security flaws within Internet-connected smartwatches for children. The exploitation of these vulnerabilities would allow attackers to perform a number of malicious activities such as eavesdropping, tracking a user’s location, and much more. This article further discusses the vulnerabilities that have been discovered within these smartwatch devices, the models of smartwatches that were examined, and the potential violation of privacy laws such as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA).
