"Hundreds of Printers Expose Backend Panels and Password Reset Functions Online"

Ankit Anubhav, Principal Researcher at NewSky Security, has discovered that around 700 Brother printers have been left exposed as attackers can access the administration panels of these printers via the Internet. This article further discusses the discovery of this exposure, how most organizations could be impacted by this exposure, how researchers plan to notify affected organizations, as well as how attackers could easily launch firmware attacks with the online exposure of a printer’s administration panel.
