"LastPass Breach: Source Code, Proprietary Tech Info Stolen"

The makers of the popular password manager LastPass have announced that an unauthorized party gained access to portions of the LastPass development environment via a single compromised developer account, taking portions of source code and some proprietary LastPass technical information. However, they reassured users that the Master Passwords securing their password vaults are safe. LastPass has yet to find evidence of the attacker gaining access to customer data in their production environment or encrypted password vaults. The company is notifying users of the breach via email, but they are not required to change their Master Password. Nonetheless, they advise users to adhere to security best practices in order to keep their accounts secure. These practices include updating devices, using strong unique passwords, and enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security. This article continues to discuss the breach faced by LastPass.
