"Mac malware continuing to escalate, warn security researchers"

Data collected by security firm, Malwarebytes, show that there has been a significant increase in malware targeting the Mac OS during 2017. Data also shows that more Mac malware families have emerged in the first half of 2017 than in previous years. The implementation of antivirus software and the promotion security awareness are no longer sufficient methods in protecting the Mac OS as malware, adware and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) are increasingly targeting Mac users. This article further discusses the increase of Mac malware, capabilities of recently discovered Mac malware, and other discoveries made by researchers.
