"For Most Companies Ransomware Is the Scariest of All Cyberattacks"

According to SonicWall's 2022 Threat Mindset Survey, 66 percent of customers are more concerned about cyberattacks in 2022, with the main threat being financially motivated attacks such as ransomware. Companies are losing millions of dollars to unending malware and ransomware attacks, and cyberattacks on critical infrastructure are affecting real-world services. Despite the growing concern about cyberattacks, organizations are struggling to keep up with the fast-changing threat landscape as they prepare their businesses, networks, data, and employees for sophisticated cyberattacks. Ransomware is the source of the most concern, cited by 91 percent of all customers. The top three concerns were phishing, spear-phishing, and encrypted malware. Despite growing concerns about cyberattacks, 78 percent of organizations do not patch critical vulnerabilities within 24 hours of patch availability.
