"Most IT Leaders Say Severity of Cyber-Attacks has Increased"

According to security researchers at CTS, Nine in 10 IT leaders have said that the risk and severity of cyberattacks has increased over the past year, while 61% believe the attack surface is now "impossible to control."  The researchers found that the top five threats IT leaders are concerned about include being hit by a malware, ransomware, or phishing attack that halts their ability to operate, lack of visibility around unknown security risks, threat actors stealing identities to access privileged systems and data, misconfigurations leaving systems open to attack, and having to patch and rewrite vulnerable applications.  Many participants (79%) believe that GenAI will change the game regarding cyberattacks, leaving them unprepared for some cybersecurity challenges.
