"This New Phishing Campaign Is Targeting Security Experts Across the Globe"

A new phishing attack campaign has been identified targeting cybersecurity professionals and hacker experts in an attempt to steal their cryptocurrency and identifying information. The malicious campaign involves Flipper Zero, a portable multi-tool used by penetration testers, hackers, and researchers. It is used to analyze any type of access control system, Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), Bluetooth, Near-Field Communication (NFC), and more. The tool began as a successful Kickstarter project, but encountered various obstacles during production. As a result, the demand greatly surpassed the supply, presenting cybercriminals with a significant opportunity. Now, researchers have discovered many fraudulent Internet websites selling Flipper Zero, along with fake Twitter accounts promoting the online stores. One of the accounts uses typosquatting to deceive users. It was discovered that these accounts are active and quickly responsive to customer inquiries. Those who fall for the scam will finally be redirected to a phishing checkout page, where they will be required to enter sensitive information, including their email address, name, and mailing address. Furthermore, the only method of payment accepted on these pages is cryptocurrency. However, according to researchers, the wallets included in the fake shops remain empty, indicating that either nobody fell for the trap or the fraudsters are continuously changing their addresses to avoid being doxxed. This article continues to discuss the Flipper Zero phishing campaign targeting security experts.
