"New Threat Intelligence Solution Launched by Google Cloud"

With the threat landscape becoming increasingly complex and security teams' environments gradually expanding to keep up, an increasing number of organizations are looking to do more with less. Threat intelligence is one of the key technologies enabling this by providing insights into cybercriminals' most commonly used tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). In response to this shift, Google Cloud has announced the general availability of Curated Detections, a new threat intelligence solution in the Chronicle SecOps suite. The solution will provide detections created by the Google Cloud Threat Intelligence (GCTI) team, allowing security teams to gain greater insights into Windows-based threats, GCP cloud-attacks, and misconfigurations while requiring less manual administration. Outside of Google's product, "curated detections" are segments of threat intelligence prepared by a third-party provider to help security teams identify the most high-value information by filtering out some of the noise. Threat intelligence based on curated detections provides practitioners with greater confidence in the information, allowing them to make more decisive decisions. According to Brian Wrozek, Forrester principal analyst, this information can be used to determine whether an organization has been compromised, whether security controls are functioning properly, which vulnerabilities should be addressed first, and how to adjust their overall security strategy. The announcement comes as the threat intelligence market continues to expand, with Future Market Insights estimating that overall intelligence demand will rise from $8.8 billion in 2021 to $39.7 billion by 2031. Google Cloud competes in the market with various providers, including Microsoft, which recently unveiled a new intelligence offering, Microsoft Defender Threat Intelligence, a solution designed to detect cyberthreats in real-time while giving users access to Microsoft's security data signals. This article continues to discuss Google's new threat intelligence solution and other key players in the threat intelligence market.
