"Open Cybersecurity Alliance (OCA) Advances Mission to Bring Interoperability Across Cybersecurity Products"
The Open Cybersecurity Alliance (OCA) is a consortium of cybersecurity vendors, including IBM and McAfee, that aims to address the problem of security complexity faced by organizations. This challenge derives from the integration of cybersecurity products for individual cases. For security architecture to be more effective, products must be capable of working together to increase information-sharing, vulnerability identification, and remediation, as well as improve compliance. However, the growing complexity of security prevents this type of advancement for many organizations. The OCA was established to enhance interoperability and data sharing among cybersecurity tools. Simplifying the integration of security technologies across the threat life cycle would help enterprise users gain new insights, obtain more value from existing products, connect data across products, and more. This article continues to discuss the OCA regarding its purpose and developments, as well as the benefits of adopting open source and open tooling for security teams.
